Why are their so many companies selling overseas property? Simply there are high margins in it. An Estate agent in the UK for example will have deals with several development companies e.g. in Spain. These developments are aimed at foreign buyers so if a UK estate agent can get a buyer the developer will typically pay the UK agent anywhere between 2.5 and 10% commission! On a £200,000 development that’s £5,000 to £20,000 for doing very little work except introducing some buyers.
