3:-How to find-your ideal area

How do i find my ideal place to live?

Ok so you now understand why you want to move. You also know how much you can afford and you also have a good idea of how big a mortgage you can obtain. The next step is you need to look at where you are going to live.

You may be moving a couple of doors down the same road or you may be relocating hundreds of miles, nevertheless it is vitally important to thoroughly research your area. You may feel you know the area inside out, but that does not necessarily mean you will be up to date with property prices in the area.
If you are moving area even if it is only a few miles, we recommend you do your research. Good homebuying is all about research, research, research.

So, the first question.

What are the most important factors to you in choosing the area you live in?

Rank in order of importance

A good idea when choosing your area, is to work out what you will be doing in 5 years time. For example at the moment, you may be young couple who have been going out for a couple of years, and needing to be near nightlife, work and your friends. However in 5 years time you may be married, have children and need good childcare facilities or be near schools or simply need more open space. So we advise try and look to the future, it does not mean being a free spirit, but a lack of planning and foresight could result in you having tomove again in a couple of years, and that can prove very costly.
