I want to live in a big house, close to work, with a big garden, backing on to fields, with clean air, 5 minutes from a train station, close to the airports, motorways in a picturesque village with great pubs, good schools and a Michelin 2 star restaurant it has to be quiet and secluded, oh and if possible a sea view!
In an ideal world we could live in such a place that could fit our dream criteria. However sometimes we have to make small compromises. However it is still possible to live within close proximity to a major city and find the country life in the city.
There is a great book called A guide to Commuterland published by The Sunday Telegraph which helps gives you an idea of where you can live closer to London in the south east.
We are keen to hear your views on great places to live in “commuterland”. Please click here and go to property tips and forums and fill in the form “Review your hometown”.
